QUESTION

I would like to create a wrapped opening, or doorway, in my plan. How can I accomplish this task?

ANSWER

You can create a wrapped opening by placing a doorway and modifying it.

To modify a doorway

  1. Select Build> Door> Doorway  and click in the wall in which you want to place it.

  2. Once placed, use the Select Objects  tool to select the doorway, and click on the Open Object  edit button to display it's specification dialog.

  3. On the Casing panel, uncheck Use Interior Casing and click OK to apply the change.

In Chief Architect X5 and prior versions, place the radio button in the
Interior option and check Suppress Interior Casing.

  4. Take a 3D Camera  view and note that the base molding wraps around interior of the opening.

Note: Wrapped openings of various shapes are also available in the Library Browser by navigating to Chief Architect Doors & Doorways folder of the Library Browser.
