QUESTION

When I delete a terrain object such as a hill from my plan, it seems to remain in plan view and I cannot get rid of it.  Why is that?

ANSWER

There are a number of ways to delete terrain objects from your plan.

To delete terrain objects using the delete edit button

  • Select the object that you would like to delete such as a terrain line or terrain region.

  •  Click the Delete  edit button on the edit toolbar to delete the object from the terrain perimeter.

To delete terrain objects within the delete objects dialog

  • Select Edit> Delete Objects  from the menu.

  • In the Delete Objects dialog, click the radio button beside All Floors, then check the box beside Terrain Objects, click Delete, and then hit Done.

Note: You can also select the Terrain Perimeter and delete it by clicking the Delete edit button or by using the delete button on your keyboard. When the Terrain Perimeter is removed, all terrain data is deleted as well.

If you delete one or more terrain objects without deleting the Terrain Perimeter, you may not see any immediate changes within your model. The deleted objects are gone, but the terrain must be rebuilt before this change will be reflected in the contour lines.

To update your terrain so that it reflects the changes you have made, select Terrain> Build Terrain  from the menu.
