QUESTION

How do I enable contextual menus so that when I right-click on an object or in a view window, a menu of relevant tools displays?

Contextual menus are one of several ways to access commonly used tools in Chief Architect.  When these menus are enabled, they can be opened by right-clicking on an object or area of the current view.

To enable contextual menus

Contextual menus are one of several ways to access commonly used tools in Chief Architect.  When these menus are enabled, they can be opened by right-clicking on an object or area of the current view.

  1. To enable your contextual menus, select Edit> Preferences  from the menu.

  2. In the list on the left side of the Preferences dialog, click on the word Appearance to display the Appearance panel of the dialog.

  3. On the right side of the Appearance panel, under the Contextual Menus heading, place a check mark in the box beside Enabled.

  4. Depending on your work style, you may also wish to check to box beside Click Twice to Display, which requires two right-clicks to display contextual menus instead of one click.

  5. Click the OK button to close the dialog and enable contextual menus in all plan and layout files, and in all views.  Contextual menus display when we right-click on:
