  • Chief Architect X4
  • Chief Architect X3
QUESTION

Floor and Ceiling materials used to be specified on the Materials tab in Chief Architect X2 and earlier versions, and I can't find where to change these values in newer programs.  How can I do this?

ANSWER

Starting in Chief Architect X3, you now have more control over Floor and Ceiling structure, so the finish for these is also set on the Structure tab of your Room Specification dialog.

Changing your floor or ceiling finish

  1. Using the Select Objects  tool, click inside of the room where you want to change the flooring or ceiling material.

  2. Next, click on the Open Object  edit tool to display the Room Specification dialog.

  3. On the Structure tab, click on the Ceiling Finish or Floor Finish button to display the Finish Definition dialog, where you can specify the Thickness and materials for your finish.
