Sometimes, when I try to place or edit a floor or ceiling platform hole in my drawing, a message tells me:
"A floor or ceiling platform hole polyline is placed where the platform height changes, or where no platform exists. Move the hole so it is completely contained within a single platform."
or:
"Could not create a hole in floor platform"
What do these messages mean?
By definition, a hole in an object such as a floor or ceiling platform must be completely contained within that object. A platform hole cannot touch the edge of the platform, extend past the edge of the platform, or be contained by multiple platforms.
If you draw a floor or ceiling platform hole at a location where it is not completely contained within a single floor or ceiling platform, one of these warning messages will display.
To prevent these warnings from displaying, make sure that each Hole in Floor Platform and each Hole in Ceiling Platform
present in your drawing:
-
Is completely located inside of a room with the relevant type of platform present. For example, a Hole in Floor Platform
should be not drawn in an Open Below room.
-
Does not extend across multiple room areas with different floor or ceiling heights.
-
Does not extend across multiple room areas with different floor or ceiling platform definitions.
