QUESTION

My door and window labels are too small when I print.  How can I increase the size of the text and change the font to suit my needs?

ANSWER

In Chief Architect, a Text Style is a saved set of attributes that can be assigned to any object that displays text, such as Text, Callouts, Markers, Dimensions, Schedules, CAD objects, and object labels.

To modify the Text Styles of labels

  1. Select Edit> Default Settings , click the plus sign next to the Text, Callouts, and Markers heading to expand the list.

  2. Click the Text Styles category to highlight it and click Edit.

  3. In the Saved Text Style Defaults dialog, the "Name" drop down menu will show the Text Styles saved with this plan. Choose Default Label Style and click Edit.

    • If this is a plan that was brought forward from an earlier version it will have text styles for labels of different objects such as Window Label Style and Door Label Style.

Note: This process was different in Chief Architect X3 and prior. The settings for labels in these earlier versions were located in the Schedules defaults, if no schedule was present, and in the Schedule Specification dialog if it was.

  4. In the Text Style Defaults - Default Label Style dialog it is possible to change the font, size, and color of labels.

  5. When finished modifying the Text Style, click OK to close the Text Style Defaults dialog.

  6. Click OK to close the Saved Text Style Defaults dialog.

  7. Click Done to close the Default Settings dialog.
