Message: A material appears to have an incorrect pattern.

The information in this article applies to:
  • Chief Architect X5
  • Chief Architect X4
  • Chief Architect X3
DESCRIPTION

When I open an old plan in the current program version, I sometimes see a warning message that says, "The material "X" appears to have an incorrect pattern, the pattern has been reset to default."

What does this mean?

RESOLUTION

Materials are represented by patterns in 3D views using the Technical Illustration, Line Drawing, and Vector View Rendering Techniques.  This message will display if a material in the current plan has a problem with its pattern.

In most cases, no action is necessary because as the message indicates, the program has reset the pattern to resolve the problem.

If you use customized material patterns, though, you may want to locate the material in question and confirm whether the default pattern definition will meet your needs.
