  • Chief Architect X3
  • Chief Architect X2
QUESTION

When I go to double click on a .plan, .layout, .calib or .calibz file, the version of the Chief Architect program that launches is not the version that I want to use.

How can I change this file association within Windows so that the version of Chief Architect I want will open when I double click on these file types?

ANSWER

If you have just installed a new version of Chief Architect, when it first launches, it will display this message, asking if you want to associate these files types with the current version of Chief Architect.

Select Yes to associate plan, layout, and library files with this version of the program.

If you would like to reassociate these file types to use a different version of the software, please see the appropriate online Microsoft Help Article for your version of Windows.
