I am not able to see my framing when I create a Cross Section/Elevation view. What do I need to do to display the framing?
There are a couple of reasons why framing may not display in 3D views such as a Cross Section/Elevation. The first reason is that framing has not yet been generated, and the second is that it is not set to display in these views.
To display framing in a 3D view
In Chief Architect, the display of objects in all views is controlled by layer set in the Layer Display Options dialog.
- Open the plan in which you would like to display framing in a Cross Section/Elevation view.
- If you have not yet built framing, select Build> Framing> Build Framing
from the menu and generate the types of framing that you wish to show.
- Select 3D> Create Orthographic View> Backclipped Cross Section
from the menu, then click and drag a camera arrow to create a cross section/elevation view.
In Chief Architect X1 and prior, select 3D> Create Vector View> Backclipped Cross Section.
- Select Tools> Display Settings> Display Options
from the menu.
- In the Layer Display Options dialog:
- Note the layer set that is currently in use. This is the default layer set for Cross Sections, as specified in the Layer Set Defaults dialog. To learn more, see How to use Layer Set Defaults.
- Browse to the Framing layers and click in the Disp column of each framing type that you would like to display in cross section/elevation view.
- Click OK to close the dialog and apply your changes.
- The selected framing types will now display in your cross section/elevation view.
- Note the layer set that is currently in use. This is the default layer set for Cross Sections, as specified in the Layer Set Defaults dialog. To learn more, see How to use Layer Set Defaults.
