QUESTION

Is there a way that I can control which wall receives a molding?

ANSWER

You can control the molding on a wall-by-wall basis in Chief Architect by using a Room Molding Polyline.

*Note: The tools in this article do not apply to Chief Architect Lite.

Creating the room molding polyline

  1. Select a room in your plan and click Make Room Molding Polyline .

  2. Select from a list of moldings currently applied to the room (or choose Blank Molding) and give it a height.

  3. Click OK.

  4. Select the molding polyline on the edge you wish to remove the molding from and click Open Object .

  5. Under the Selected Line tab, check No Molding on Selected Edge.

    • If you chose 'Blank Molding' in step 2, or if you need to select a new or additional molding profile you can do this on the Moldings tab.

  6. Click OK.

The molding will now display on all edges of the room except the edge you selected.
