I have a CAD detail, and would like to be able to use it in more than one plan. How do I add it to the library?
The Chief Architect library includes a selection of detail drawings in the CAD Blocks library. You can save additional drawings of your own in this library, as well, so they are easily accessed in any plan.
- Click the Select Objects
toolbar button.
- Hold down the Shift key on your keyboard, click and drag a rectangular selection marquee around your CAD drawing.
- When everything you want to include in your block is selected, click the Make CAD Block
edit button.
- Select the CAD object. The entire drawing should highlight.
- Click the Add to Library
edit button or select Tools> Symbol> Add to Library
from the menu.
- In Chief Architect X3, the block will be added to the My Library category of the library.
- In Chief Architect X2, the block will be added to the Import category of your Library Browser.
- In Chief Architect X3, the block will be added to the My Library category of the library.
