QUESTION

When generating a 3D overview of my plan, some of my walls do not display.  They are not specified as invisible, so why can't I see them?

ANSWER

The most common reason for a wall to not generate in 3D views is that a roof plane is cutting into the wall, preventing it from building upward.

To modify the roof plane
  1. Locate the problem wall in floor plan view and Zoom  in on it.

    • In this simple example a small roof plane extends into the siding and sheathing layers of a wall.

    • For illustrative purposes, the roof plane has a solid white fill.

  2. Click the Select Objects  button, then select a roof plane with an edge that touches the wall in question.

  3. Use the roof planes' edit handles to move the edge closest to the wall so that it does not extend past the wall surface.

  4. Select Build> Structure> Rebuild Walls/Floors/Ceilings  from the menu or press the F12 key on your keyboard.

  5. Create a 3D view of your model.  Your missing wall should now display correctly.
