I would like to be able to have more undos available. Is there a way to do this?
The Undo and Redo commands allow you to undo the last action performed, as well redo actions that were recently Undone. Actions that can be Undone and Redone include creating, editing and deleting objects.
By default, the ten most recent actions can be Undone and Redone. If you would like to increase or decrease this number, you can do so in the Preferences dialog.
To increase the number of available Undos
- Select Edit> Preferences
from the menu.
- On the General panel of the Preferences dialog, specify the Maximum Undos value.
- Maximum Undos - Specify how many levels of Undo and Redo you want available, from 1 to 100. Undo files are saved in the Undo Directory.
- Record undo state only if idle longer than - Use this setting to control how often undo states are recorded. If set to 0 milliseconds, an undo state is recorded every time a change is made to a plan.
If set to a number larger than 0, an undo state is recorded if the specified amount of time has elapsed since the last change was made. Depending on the time specified and the speed work is being done, multiple changes might be reversed with one undo.
This setting can have a significant effect on the performance of the undo feature when working with large plans.
- Maximum Undos - Specify how many levels of Undo and Redo you want available, from 1 to 100. Undo files are saved in the Undo Directory.
- Click OK to apply the settings to all Chief Architect .plan and .layout files.
Increasing the number of undos may substantially increase the hard drive space used on your computer and can have a noticable effect on performance when working on larger plans.
