How the Architectural and ANSI Paper Sizes Differ

I would like to know the differences between and Architectural and ANSI paper sizes. Could you list the two of these for me?

ANSWER

Architectural and ANSI (American National Standards Institute) are two paper size standards commonly used in the United States.  Below are the Architectural and ANSI paper sizes, listed in inches.


ANSI Sizes:

  • ANSI A (Letter) - 8.5" x 11"

  • ANSI A (Legal) - 8.5" x 14"

  • ANSI B (Tabloid) - 11" x 17"

  • ANSI C - 17" x 22"

  • ANSI D - 22" x 34"

  • ANSI E - 34" x 44"



Architectural Sizes:

  • Architectural A (ARCH A) - 9" x 12"

  • Architectural B (ARCH B) - 12" x 18"

  • Architectural C (ARCH C) - 18" x 24"

  • Architectural D (ARCH D) -  24" x 36"

  • Architectural E1 - 30" x 42"

  • Architectural E - 36" x 48"
