I am trying to select a number of text objects but I keep getting my room labels. How can I select certain text items without selecting other items?
There are two methods you can use to select only the objects you need. The first is to limit the selection to only text objects. The second is to lock items that you do not want to select by locking the layers they are on.
To limit your selection to only text items
- Click on the Text Tools
parent tool.
- Next choose one of the child tools.
- If you want to select text only, choose the Text
child toolbar button.
- If you want to select rich text only, choose the Rich Text
tool.
- To select text and arrows select the Text with Arrow
toolbar button.
- If you want to only select arrows select the Text Line with Arrow
toolbar button.
- If you want to select text only, choose the Text
- Next, hold down the Shift key on your keyboard, then click and drag a marquee or box around the text you want to select.
- Depending on your choice in step 2, you have selected only text items, rich text items, text items with arrows, or only arrows.
Using layer sets and the selective filtering of the text tools allows great flexibility in editing your text and speeds the creation of your plans.
