If you are unable to launch Chief Architect after following the instructions above, here are some additional troubleshooting steps to try:
- Install Chief Architect on the server computer, if you have not already done so, and run the Hardware Lock Troubleshooter. Note what hardware locks are installed and any error codes that appear on the first page of the troubleshooter.
- Verify that the correct lock is inserted on the host computer by starting Chief Architect and when prompted, launch the Hardware Lock Troubleshooter. The troubleshooter shows an entry for the network lock and the version of Chief Architect supported.
- Make sure you can browse to the computer with the hardware lock through the Windows network. If this is not possible, contact your network administrator to determine why the network is not configured properly.
- Verify that you can see the hardware lock in the Windows Device Manager.
- If you opted to configure the Windows Firewall, temporarily disable the firewall to see if this makes a difference.
- Check with your network administrator to see if any other firewall software is installed on the workstations or server.
- Check to see if there are any other network usb hardware lock devices on the local network. If so, remove them to determine if they are interfering.
If none of these steps resolves the problem, contact Chief Architect Technical Services either by telephone, or use the Online Support Center at http://support.chiefarchitect.com
