I am trying to join roof planes and keep encountering the following message:
This message displays when you try to join to roof plane edges that, because of their positions, cannot be joined in a manner that would produce a logical roof design.
There is exactly one line along which any two planes can intersect, and it is this line that Chief Architect locates when you use the Join Roof Planes edit tool to join two roof plane edges to form a hip, valley or ridge.
To resolve the problem described above, try changing the position or angle of the roof plane edges involved and then trying to join the roof planes again.
In some situations, the problem isn't the edge positions or angles, but rather that part of one of the roof plane edges can successfully join the other edge while the other part of that same edge cannot. This can be addressed by adding a break to one or both of the roof plane edges in question using the Break Line tool.
