When I place a wall cabinet, nothing happens. I can place base and full height cabinets without a problem, but the Wall Cabinet tool seems to have stopped working. What is wrong?
A drawing tool such as the Wall Cabinet tool may appear to do nothing if the default layer associated with this tool is not currently turned on.
When the program is newly installed and you try to place an object on a layer that is not turned on, the program asks you if you would like to turn the layer on.
In Chief Architect X2 and older, if you check the box beside Remember my choice before clicking Yes or No in this message box, the program no longers prompt you to turn on layers in the future. If you selected No, the program does not turn on the layer of an object you are inserting. As a result, it may seem that the drawing tool no longer works.
To see the objects that you are placing, make sure that their default layer is turned on in the Layer Display Options dialog. Select Tools> Display Settings> Display Options from the menu to open this dialog, then browse to the desired layer and make sure there is a checkmark in the Display column.
Be advised, however, that if you reset all message boxes, all message boxes that you may have suppressed become active again.
To reset message boxes, select Edit> Preferences from the menu. On the Reset Options panel of the Preferences dialog, click the Reset Message Boxes button, then click OK.
