QUESTION

I've noticed that some fixtures can be included in a plumbing, HVAC or appliance schedule, but do not see these in the Schedules Tools. How to I create one of these schedules?

ANSWER

You can create a plumbing, HVAC or appliance schedule by creating a Fixtures Schedule and then making a few simple changes to it.

To create a plumbing, HVAC or appliance schedule

  1. Open the plan file in which you would like to create one of these custom schedules.

  2. Select CAD> CAD Detail Management  from the menu, and in the CAD Detail Management dialog, click New.

    • You can also create a schedule in floor plan view; however, schedules, CAD blocks and other 2D objects that enhance your working drawings are more easily organized when placed in their own CAD Detail windows.

  3. Type a short, descriptive name for your detail, such as "Plumbing Schedule", then click OK.

  4. In the new CAD Detail window, select Tools> Schedules> Fixtures Schedule  from the menu, then click in the drawing area to create a Fixtures Schedule.

    • In Version X1 and prior, a Schedule Specification dialog opened when a schedule tool was selected from the menu.  If you are using one of these program versions, proceed to steps 5 and 6 and then click OK to create a schedule in the drawing area.

  5. Select the new schedule and click the Open Object  edit button.

  6. On the Schedule tab of the Fixture Schedule Specification dialog:

    • Check only the type of schedule you wish to create under Objects to Include.

    • Under Title, type the name that you would like for this schedule.

    • Click OK to close the dialog and apply your changes.

To specify a symbol for inclusion in your schedule

  1. Select a symbol that you would like to include in your new schedule and click the Open Symbol  edit button.

  2. On the Options tab of the Symbol Specification dialog, check the box beside Appears in plumbing schedule, then click OK.
