How do I download and install Chief Architect X2?
ANSWER
Once you have logged in to your online account, go to your Digital Locker page and click the Download button to begin the setup of the Downloader software. This is a relatively small file and should download quickly.
Be sure to record your CD Key number for use at the end of the installation process.
Once you click on Download, you will be presented with a File Download Security Warning dialog box asking if you want to Run or Save the file. Click on RUN.
In a moment you will be presented with another dialog box asking if you want to run the software. Click on RUN.
Once the small downloader file is downloaded, the actual Chief Architect X2 download will begin. The first dialog box will present you with the Save to location. You can click the File button to choose a different location or simply click Next to download the file to the default location – My Documents\Downloads.
As the download starts, the Progress dialog box will display. Depending on your internet connection speeds, this process may take from one to several hours.
Once the download is completed, the installation files will begin being extracted to a temp folder.
After the extraction is complete the installation will begin, and you will see the Chief Architect X2 Installation Wizard. Click Next to begin.
After reading the End User License Agreement, click on I accept the terms and conditions in this license agreement and click on Next.
The next dialog box allows you to modify the Chief Architect installation. By default, all components are selected to install and the default location is set. If you must, you can click the Browse button to change the installation directory.
Click Next to continue.
Now that all of the installation settings are completed, you can click on the Install button to begin the installation. The installation may take quite some time depending on your computer system.
When the installation is complete, you can begin the registration process by leaving the check mark in Launch Chief Architect X2 and clicking the Finish button.
The Registration Wizard will start and you can click on the Next button.
Enter the CD Key you copied from your Digital Locker and click Next.
Continue through the registration process, entering requested information and clicking on Next.
Once completed, Chief Architect X2 will launch.
