Building Project Online Training
Scope
Chief Architect’s Building Project is a six hour Second-Level (Intermediate) Online Seminar designed to expand the experienced user’s knowledge and skill pertaining to overall plan development and understanding using Chief Architect. A multi-level residential structure is created as we explore various construction methods, concepts and techniques used to produce the completed plan shell including the roof and framing. The process of creating construction documents begins in this class.
Requirements

- A telephone near to the computer
- Attendees need to have completed a Jump Start online training, a field Introductory Training Seminar or obtain Instructor approval
- A licensed copy of Chief Architect X1

Content
This training is designed to help the student develop a greater understanding of Chief Architect and to teach the skills necessary to build any plan shell with confidence. In this class we will:
- Maintain a common-sense, thoughtful approach to drawing and creating plans with Chief Architect.
- Develop a good understanding of the “Design Process” and make use of that knowledge when creating a plan shell.
- Learn about different walls wall types, compositions, and configurations.
- Control curved wall placement and add curved windows and doors.
- Work with multiple-floor creation and multi-level creation.
- Examine in depth, doors and windows. Learn to create custom versions and mulled units. Examine bay, box and bow windows.
- Create a Stem Wall foundation, a Monolithic foundation and a Pier Foundation.
- Learn to understand dimension defaults and to use and control dimensions.
- Set up framing defaults and learn to control framing on an intimate basis.
- Understand how roofing works and how to use the defaults and specifications dialogs for walls, rooms and roofs to manage auto-roof creation.
- Create several roof styles automatically and then recreate them manually
- Examine Chief’s cameras and the camera tools, learn to create productive views.
- Create a layout template and learn to send views to layout.
Upon completion of this training course, students should have a strong intermediate level understanding of the tools required, the processes undertaken, and many of the techniques used to develop and frame plan shells with Chief Architect.
