How can I make sure a plan that I am printing fits on the page?

You can see if your plan will fit on the page that you are printing to in one of several ways:

  • Select File> Print> Print Preview  to display the floor plan view as it will appear when printed.

The drawing sheet displays in Print Preview and can be selected using the Select Objects  tool and re-positioned; however, anything that will not be printed, such as the grid lines, cannot.

To quickly center your plan on the drawing sheet, select File > Print > Center Sheet .

  • Alternately, you can check the box beside Show Drawing Sheet in View in the Drawing Sheet Setup dialog.

  • Another method is to select File> Print> Print  and select the Fit to Paper option in the Print View dialog.

The Fit to Paper percentage value is global - affecting all views in all files, and is retained between sessions.

  • Finally, you can send the drawing to a layout sheet and adjust the plan so it fits on the layout sheet.
