How do I determine if I have a 32-bit or a 64-bit processor on my Mac computer?

It is important to know whether your Mac has a 32-bit or 64-bit processor, as the Mac version of Chief Architect is a 64-bit program so it can only be installed on a 64-bit Operating System. You can tell if your Mac is 64-bit or 32-bit by looking in the About This Mac section.

To view information about your Mac

  1. Click the Apple icon in the upper left of the screen. Then click About This Mac from the menu.

  2. In the About This Mac dialog your Processor will be listed.

    • If the Processor is listed as either "Intel Core Solo" or "Intel Core Duo" then you have a 32-bit processor and you will not be able to install Chief Architect on this computer.

    • If the Processor shows something else, such as "Intel Core i5," it is a 64-bit processor and you will be able to install and run Chief Architect on this computer.
