Transferring and Sharing Chief Architect As-Built Models

QUESTION

How can I transfer a model from the As-Built mobile application to Chief Architect Premier? Also, how can I share a model with someone else?   

ANSWER

As-Built models can be transferred to Chief Architect Premier X18 and newer versions by adding them to the cloud associated with your Chief Architect Account, then navigating to File> Import> Import Chief As-Built File within Chief Architect Premier. 

Additionally, once an As-Built model has been added to the cloud, it can be shared by clicking on the Enable Sharing option within the As-Built mobile application. 

Transferring and Sharing Chief Architect As-Built Models

1. Open the As-Built mobile application on your device, access the Models section, then click on the Saved menu option to see a list of models. 
   
   
   
   
   
2. Locate the model that you want to transfer or share, tap on its name, then click the Add to Cloud  icon. 
   
   
   
   
   
3. A Sign In Required window will appear; click Sign In and proceed to sign in to your Chief Architect Account. 
   
   
   
   
   
4. Upon signing in, the model is uploaded to the cloud. You can now do the following:
   
   
   • Transfer the model to Chief Architect Premier X18 or newer. 
     
     On your supported Windows or Mac system, open Chief Architect Premier X18, access the plan that you want to import the As-Built model into, then navigate to File> Import> Import Chief As-Built File . If you aren't signed in to your Chief Architect Account within the program, you will be prompted to do so. Once signed in, an Import Chief As-Built File dialog will display with a list of uploaded models; click on the model that you want to import, then click OK.
     
     
     
     
   • Share the model by clicking on the Enable Sharing  icon. 
     
     This prompts an invitation email with additional instructions on accessing a shared model, of which can be sent to a recipient of your choice. Even if an email is not sent during this process, a share code is generated, which can be used to view the model with anyone you choose to share the code with. 
     
     

     Note: A Chief Architect Account is required to view As-Built models. A Chief Architect Account is free and can be created by clicking on the "Register" option within the As-Built mobile application or by signing up here. 

     
     
     
     To disable the sharing of a particular model, click on the Disable Sharing  icon that displays beside the Enable Sharing icon. 
     
     
   • Remove the model from the cloud by clicking on the Remove from Cloud  icon. 
     
     Removing a model from the cloud will revoke access to the model from everyone whom you may have shared it with. This does not delete the model from the local device however; it is still fully accessible on the iPad or iPhone that it was created on. 
   
   

   As-Built models can only be managed using the As-Built mobile application at this current time.
