Chief Architect Has Improved Communication With Our Team

Chief Architect has been an incredible tool for helping us communicate design ideas clearly and confidently with our clients. As a residential builder and remodeler, I needed software that could help me create floor plans, renderings, and realistic visuals efficiently, and Chief Architect has been a great fit.

When I started using the software, I watched a few of Chief Architect’s tutorial videos, utilized a few helpful online resources, and the ChiefTalk Forum to get started. I am still learning and feel like I have only scratched the surface of what the software can do, but even with a growing skill set, I have been able to create meaningful designs and present clients with a clear vision of their future spaces.

I’ve been using Chief Architect for about 6 years now, and it’s honestly become the backbone of my business. It lets me move quickly from early concepts and blocking all the way through to detailed construction drawings, all in one place. Chief Architect is a great program to introduce High School Interior Design students to when schools are looking for classes with “industry standards”. I will select parts of the training videos from Chief Architect to assist students in interacting with the professional program. It is like having a professional create the lesson plans for you. My students enjoy going beyond my assignments and adding an outdoor playground, plants, decorations, game rooms, and many other fun accessories to their designs for their “clients”. The program allows students to challenge themselves with the advanced and is easy to use for the basic learner.

Whether they are taking the class to be a future Interior Designer, architect, plumber, electrician, carpenter, floor layer, landscaper, painter….it sparks interest in all areas, and that is what I want for my students.

Chief Architect has really streamlined our process. Being able to build the 3D model as I draft the plans is a game-changer. I use the built-in rendering tools to show clients what their house will actually look like, and it helps us make decisions faster. Doing everything in-house gives us more control and lets us be more detailed and responsive to what our clients want.

I have been a Chief Architect user since version 6.0 (2003), and it is hard to imagine designing and preparing plans without it. The software improves on every subsequent release, and one of the best features I personally appreciate.

An Absolutely Essential Tool in My Tool Belt

I use Chief Architect pretty much daily and consider it an absolutely essential tool in my tool belt. I greatly appreciate Scott and the wonderful support team, who are always ready to help when needed. 

The Best Software for on the Fly Design

I’ve been using Chief Architect Premier for 8 years now and cannot imagine going elsewhere. The software’s color coding and adaptability have made designing projects quick and intuitive. When you have a concept that needs to be toyed with and adjusted on the fly this software allows you the freedom to make changes in a few clicks and instantly see the results. Chief has significantly less of the clunky, rigid set up that other software programs require once you have your template setup. I’m very fond of this flexibility as I like to close out designs with my clients in person and make all the final tweaks and add the little details right before their eyes.

This coupled with the incredible community has made it software that’s very user friendly for new users and veterans alike. I’m especially fond of the depth of tools and functions Chief offers. You can keep learning new refined techniques and tools for years to go along with their impressive 3D catalogue.

I have been using Chief

I have been using Chief for the past 7 years. I went to school to get my Bachelor’s degree and learned AutoCAD and Revit. It wasn’t until after graduation that I started my first job in the industry, and had to learn Chief Architect. I have never looked back since then. Chief Architect has made the work process so much faster and easier. I didn’t even question what software I would use when I started my own business 5 years ago. Chief Architect will always be my go to.

Wonderful Program

I have been using architectural CAD programs for 35 years and this program is a joy to use. Sure there are times when I’m frustrated with not being able to figure things out but eventually I get it. I have even gone back to old houses I’ve designed to input them for practice and just to play. Chief Architect Premier does cost a lot but the things it adds to Home Designer Professional are worth it.

Excellent Support

I have been using Chief for years – currently version 15. I really appreciate the upgrades that create the ease of use. The technical support staff listens with patience, offer great solutions and short cuts. The vast library of tutorials is a great asset.
